Amanda + Dan | September Wedding at Moonstone Manor
Every once in a while, I get to step in as a second shooter and just enjoy making images without worrying about the timeline or logistics. That was the case for Amanda and Dan’s September wedding at Moonstone Manor in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. I was shooting for Jeremy Bischoff Photography, and it turned out to be a really good day to have a camera in my hands.
Moonstone Manor is one of those places that doesn’t need much to feel magical. It’s tucked along a quiet creek, surrounded by big old trees, gardens, and stone pathways that look like they’ve been waiting for a wedding to happen. Amanda and Dan picked a September date that hit that perfect late-summer, early-fall sweet spot. Warm sun, soft light, and just a hint of leaves starting to turn.
Their ceremony took place outdoors, with sunlight filtering through the trees all around. The whole thing felt relaxed and happy. The kind of atmosphere that makes it easy to focus on real, honest moments. I spent most of my time catching those little in-between shots I love so much: guests hugging, a quick glance between the couple, kids running around the lawn.
As the day turned to night, Klock Entertainment kept the dance floor packed. I always love when couples work with a good entertainment team. It makes a huge difference in the vibe of the night. The lighting, the music, the energy, it all came together and turned into one of those receptions that just keeps rolling.
Moonstone Manor is a pretty incredible wedding venue. Between the gardens, the creek, and the historic stone manor, there’s no shortage of good spots for portraits. Every direction you turn looks like it belongs in a wedding magazine, but it still feels personal and down-to-earth.
I didn’t have to overthink this one. I just followed the light, paid attention to the story unfolding around me, and made photographs that feel honest. Amanda and Dan’s day was a reminder that the best weddings aren’t about the show. They’re about the people.
