Lindsey has been putting in steady work. Not a flashy kind of work, the kind that involves small changes and the early alarms. When she asked me to make these portraits, I knew that I wanted them to reflect the characteristics that those who know her see in her. Strong. Bright. Easy to be around.
Photos are not only proof of a day. They are a mirror that shows you the you that the rest of us already see. Most of us live inside our heads, replaying the same stories that don’t fit anymore. Stepping in front of the camera is a way to let those stories go. Sometimes it's not that easy. You let someone you trust do the looking, and you let yourself be seen.
